when u put frozen food in hot oil the ice melts super quickly and becomes like steam which makes the oil sputter out and if ur doing this on a stove w open fire the oil will immediately catch fire. even if it doesnt catch fire u can get oil burns so like DO NOT do this. either put the frozen food in room temperature oil and heat them together or let the food thaw a bit and scrape off excess ice becore u put it in oil. dont follow my example
the internet told me growing up that to test if oil was hot enough, you can put a few droplets of water in and if it skitters it’s ready. i was home alone at 11 and trying to cook the recipe on the back of the assigned reading esperanza rising. my pot of oil was hot enough but I was so enamored with the skitters that i put 4 ice cubes in the pot

This post has riled a lot of people. For what it’s worth, my point wasn’t that technology is bad and Edison was a witch, my point was that any industry that can be killed by unionizing should be.
Applying for jobs is a hell designed specifically to torment autistic people. Here is a well-paying task which you know in your heart and soul if they just gave you a desk and left you alone and allowed you to do it you would sit there and be more focused and enthusiastic and excellent at it than anyone else in the building. However, before they allow you to perform the task, you must pass through 3-4 opaque social crucibles where you must wear uncomfortable clothes and make eye contact while everyone expects you to lie, but not too much (no one is ever clear exactly how much lying is expected, “over” honesty is however penalized). You are being judged almost entirely on how well you understand these very specific and unclear rules that no one has explained. None of this has anything to do with your ability to perform the desired task.
I love seeing posts where someone says something that clearly sets up a joke and then has very obviously messaged their friend to question it in a reblog so they deliver the punchline with maximum impact. Haven’t seen that in a while
